Mari -- your comments aren't working for me, for some reason; not even in IE. *Blink* *Grin* But I have suggestions! *Bounce* Alaska's good for all kinds of things -- teachers here use The Iditarod for all kinds things, from math to reading. I'm sure the site has more info/resources. Also, I know that The Alaska Sealife Center has a whole shelf-ful of teacher's resources for all sorts of Alaskan animal-related stuff. Everything from the migration of whales to Color Alaska's Wildlife! sorts of things. I'm not sure if they'll have it listed on their site, but you could probably call them. Or I/someone I know could make a run down there -- it's not too far away. *Grin* And I love going there, so it's not like it'd be a hardship on my part.

I don't know if I've broken any records, but I haven't even been working at VCA for two weeks and I've already brought home a kitten. He's a beautiful black kitty (with stripes, in direct sunlight!), has all of his shots (free, thanks to work), healthy and strong and curious and funny.

The problem? Well, aside from needing to be neutered, he doesn't have an official name. We're debating: (That Idiot) Ivan, Bagheera, Kaaaaato..., Clouseau, Pinky, or maaaaybe Miles. Personally, I'm quite fond of (That Idiot) Ivan, because it -fits-.

Speaking of Miles, and with all apologies to Mrs. Bujold, I'd just like to say 'a life full of pee without vomiting is -still- a life full of pee'. I swear by all that is holy that I will NEVER EVER have a little male dog. All of the little male dogs at work pee _everywhere_, all over everything. They'd probably pee on -me-, if they thought of it. And Yasminda very deliberately peed on the floor in my room tonight! (I think she was just kinda stressed out by the new kitty... But _STILL_.)

In other news, I want to stay home tomorrow, but I can't. I have to work. At least I have Sunday off before my Hell Week begins.

I forget how I got the assignment, but I had to fax them the completed piece, and then later when I called to try and get a copy, they would only speak French to me. I'd be asking the receptionist for the editor who assigned it to me and for all I know, she was ranting about the Quebec secessionist movement to me, or singing the praises of poutine, or discussing the Canadiens' goaltending woes -- I had no clue.

This is why I love PCJM.

I have _never_ used the word 'sweetheart' as many times as I have in the last ten days. I may never -stop- using it, either.

The sad/funny/odd part, though? I'm only talking to _animals_. Heh.

Ooh, neat! Check out the live feed from Chiswell Island (RealPlayer req.) and see Sea Lion pups! (Link found at the SeaLife Center's website under 'Research'.)

I want to go to Las Vegas. I really, -really- _really_ want to go to Las Vegas. Or Palm Springs. I don't care, I just want to go.

that's one of the greatest things about dating a musician! they totally rock ur socks like that! like, i've dated a jock...and yeah it's cool when they go to states and kick some ass, but i dunno, i'd rather be sung to than be the girlfriend of like, Mr. Best Defense or something ya know?

All of my hockey players are rolling their eyes and snorting. And Victor wants to know how to pronounce 'ur'.

I remembered what I was going to say yesterday! *Ahem* The movie title 'Gattaca' suddenly makes far more sense to me, now, since I've seen the GATTAAACTAAATAATTTTCTTTTCT stuff in the background of TLC's How To Build A Human In Ten Easy Steps Or Your Money Back commercials.

That was all.

I get to go in to work later than usual, tomorrow! Yay. I like my job, but... I like closing better than opening, because I only have to do things once and then I get to go home, and everything is nice and clean for tomorrow. Opening, I have to wash stuff that's just gonna get dirty again in ten minutes.

The downside of only working four hours tomorrow? I have to go to the dentist in the morning. *Grumple* On the other hand, if I -don't- go to the dentist, I will end up with a massive cavity and be very very sad. Boo.

Two more days and I'll have at least one post a day for the whole month. Ooh.

What on earth was I going to say? I like El-Hazard; one of my co-workers loaned it to me in return for Outlaw Star. *Grin* She was -so- thrilled to learn that I'm an anime geek.
