*Giggle* If you get ToonDisney in your area, look for Blazing Dragons, another show that I should hate with all the firey passion of a thousand burning suns (so it will have a nice long funny run). You can read a description of it at Nelvana's site, but it doesn't do it justice, really. It's full of the most terrible puns, which of course is why it appeals to me so.

Allrighty. Going to bed now. Guh.

Lenard Nimoy with a Geraldo Riviera mustache is just WRONG.

This post brought to you by The History Channel's In Search Of... marathon, the Shroud Of Turin episode. Torino (Turin) is also the name of the city of the next Winter Olympics, to which C&B's mama demands we accompany her. -She- got to go to Salt Lake City and see some of the skiing, along with something else that I forget, and she hung out with a bunch of drunk Norweigans, who were lots of fun. Mostly, I just wanna go and cheer for the Latvian hockey team. Heh.

The interview went really well, I think -- in fact, afterwards, the head cleaning girl took me on a tour of the clinic, and was thrilled to learn that I was A) over eighteen and B) not pregnant/planning on being pregnant any time soon, because that means that I'm one more pair of hands that can help hold animals for X-raying.

I am also, apparently, one of about three candidates that they're looking at, which is kind of cool -- plus, since I got my application in early, I got in before they put an ad in the paper.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
There are no new stories, just a handful of ancient tales cut apart and pasted together into new forms, told in new ways. But things are changing. Science is learning to break down matter and energy into smaller and smaller units; in similar fashion, we approach the Planck’s Constant of stories, and use these tiny pieces in radioactive new ways. Don’t bitterly believe that you know the ending to the yarn you’re spinning now. You have the skill to divide what’s left into miniscule pieces and reweave them into a pattern so intricate, beautiful and unpredictable that it might as well be something totally new.

Bwahaha! Like I'm writing _anything_, at the moment.

Also, I must make up my mind as to whether I'm going to see Coco and Buster, or out to my dad's house...

*Blinkblink* I get to schedule an interview appointment with my local VCA. *Blink*

The History Channel's This Day In History? The Spanish Civil War! Not an event to rejoice over (unless you're Franco, I guess), but I have a...friendly...spot in my heart for it.

There are either squirrels or birds hanging out around the house, making all sorts of noise.

Hooray for The History Channel. They've done their homework on modern witches, and presented Wicca in the positive light that it deserves. Good for them.

Actually, my last post wasn't supposed look like it sounded sarcastic -- I really did appreciate their research department's work on the show.

I'm not excited about my interview tomorrow morning, but then, I'm rarely ever excited about job interviews. I'm going to wear, of all things, a dress. I don't know which shoes I'll wear, as I suddenly find myself the proud owner of about ten different pairs of shoes. (I say 'about' because I could have more.)

...I hate job-related anxiety. But at least this time I shooooouldn't have a panic attack because I have to, you know, leave the house. So, think good thoughts, or something, eh?

Hey! *Wavewave* I -am- still among the living, and I am also still among the uninjured. I've just just been busy painting fish, stars, suns and moons on Coco & Buster's mama's walls. It's been fun, and she really likes what I've done.

I have no idea what is making that God-Awful noise, but it sounds like dogs howling, geese, and possibly whooping cranes. It's entirely possible that someone is having their septic tank pumped, and the noise is from that.

If it's still going on when I get home from C&B's house, I'm either going to go over there or call the cops.

They killed Byers on Andromeda!

....Well, I'm sure his character-name was something else, but it was still the neatly-groomed Byers we all know and love dressed in something black and sexy, prepared to do some funky poaching.

The new rapping Twix commercials suck. Also, my life does not demand anything as horrible-smelling as Lysol, thanks.

I'm going home on Monday, I swear by all that's holy. Honest.

Corrected the spelling on vertebrates, over there, and finally centered the header picture. Duh.

And I know that I've been complaining a _LOT_, lately, but one more leeeeetle complaint: I don't like Kevin 'Hercules' Sorbo. He's not attractive, he never seems to have just gotten a haircut, and his voice is nothing special. If he fell off of Andromeda and left Tyr in charge of the ship, I'd be a happy little viewer. (That and I'd actually -make- the effort to watch, too -- Harper and Tyr, yum. The women aren't bad, either.)

Okay, I promise that my next entry will be only positive.

I love my family. I am so happy that my mother lets me do whatever I want to to my body (within reason, of course), lets me wear whatever clothing I want with the only rule being that if I must dress like a floozie, I have to dress like an -expensive- floozie, and lets me listen to whatever music I choose to enjoy. I am so lucky to have such understanding people with whom to share my home.

I gotta go to bed. 'Night.

Finished Fearless Jones, today. Pretty good.

I like The Antique Roadshow.

Monday, I'm headed home to pick up my sketches for Coco and Buster's mama's house's murals. I have no idea if I'll be moving back home next week or not. I'd really prefer to, as I A) itch, B) don't feel all that great, C) am not exactly getting a whole bunch done around here, D) don't enjoy/look forward to the commute between here and C&B's mama's house, and last but not least E) just experienced an earthquake in a house that was NOT built by a certified homebuilder but a certified -plumber-. It wasn't a -bad- quake, in fact, had I not been lying in bed, I probably would never have known, but -still-. I'd rather be at home. (My documented fears of the dangers of this house are to be taken as given, which I guess is actually fairly obvious. I'll stop, now.)

I'm not really homesick, I don't think -- I just am not enjoying my time alone, which is kind of unusual. I miss my animals, -yes- I miss having more than three channels (I re-counted. NBC, ABC, PBS are all recieved clearly; UPN comes in snowy on 5 and marginally more clearly on 29, whee), there's the whole water issue plus the new hot-water heater issue (it's not quite big enough or hot enough) and the water-pressure issue (there's not much, in the shower, anyhow), and the man DOES NOT OWN A VACUUM. (Granted, -he- doesn't eat in bed, either, so there may be a reason for that. Heh.)

Mom says to look at it as practice for going to Pierce, but... Guh. It's NOT like going there at all. If I were in WA, I would have a few more amenities (or I'm -assuming- I would, anyhow...) than I do here. At the very least, I wouldn't be living somewhere with bare insulation on the walls and killer stairways. (And it doesn't _snow_ there.)

I wanna see the Secrets Of Lost Empires, but it comes on Tuesday at 7:00. Something else comes on on ABC on Tuesday that I wanted to see, but now I can't remember what it was.

Also, PBS will be showing a POV program on autism next week. According to TVguide.com (a damn spiffy and -useful- site):
P.O.V.
Refrigerator Mothers
60 min.
In “Refrigerator Mothers,” seven mothers of autistic children born in the 1950s and '60s describe the burdens caused by their being blamed for their offsprings' autism at a time when it was believed that the neurological disorder was caused by maternal coldness (hence the term “refrigerator mother”). “What have we done that was so awful?” asks one. The hour also explores how the blame-the-mother theory took hold (its major proponent was legendary developmental psychologist Bruno Bettelheim), and how it was gradually disproved.

I don't know how useful/informative it will be for the layman, but it sounds interesting to me. (Of course, I am a learning/communications wonk, so...) Comes on Tuesday at 9:00 for me, check your local listings.

I need to go to sleep, but one last thing before I forget --

Went to the Talkeetna Moose Dropping Festival (and that's 'moose dropping' as in excrement, not as in tossing moose out of planes, just so you know. We're weird, but we're not -all- cruel as a rule. Those of us that -are- are generally looked down upon by the rest. Anyhow!) today, and met a -beautiful- big black Shepherd named (surprise!) Shadow. Oh, he was so sweet, and so pretty... But he was more interested in playing with rocks than with talking to me. Silly boy.

Okay, I'm going to sleep, now. I still wanna go home.

Also, as a post-script to my whining about being here: there are no on-site laundry facilities, here. I am _NOT_ using my survival money on doing laundry, thenkewverymuch. (Pierce? No dorms=alternative housing=onsite laundry in all but the most primitive conditions. And I am SO not interested in communal laundry facilities with some kind of 'no wash after Xpm' policy. ('Cause God knows I'll be the one living next door to the laundry room and that everyone and their uncle (but not me!) will break that rule...)

Yeah, yeah, I'll quit my bitching, now. 'Night.

Dammit, Blogger ate my post.

Thanks to Regina's Vegetarian Table, I went looking for Dilettante Chocolates. Along the way, I also found EBulkCandy.com. Do I _need_ another source for sweets? No. Will I be ordering as soon as I have the wherewithal to do so? Most likely.

*Snicker* -There's- an enticement to get someone to drive for the Anchorage Baptist Temple: they'll feed you.

No, there is _nothing_ else on.

http://www.ancbt.org/ -- the only redeeming feature they've got (for me, anyhow) is the fact that their choir is _Amazing_.

Unfortunately, though, they don't seem to encourage the congregation to sing along. That, among other things, keeps this heathen from setting foot in that particular house of the Lord. (Besides, Holy Spirit Episcopal is just down the way from me, so...)

Dog Jog 2002 -- mom and I are thinking of doing this with Yasminda and Vera, if we can ever get a hold of Vera's mama. (I admit, though, that I'm a bit hesitant with Yasminda - she's still not exactly completely at ease around other dogs, but maybe with Vera there, she'd be distracted enough that she'd be okay.)
