*Giggle* I'm listening to/watching the history channel: "UFOs VS. The Government". No, it's not about UFOs suing, or waging war, but rather investigations into unexplained phenomena.

It's a bad idea to fall in love with someone's words, because they never tell the whole of what someone is like.

...As much as I resist, as wrong as I know it is, I still find myself doing it, a little at a time. Some things should be savored: chocolate, ice cream on a hot day, good smut, and certain blogs. I'm something of a Greedy Gus, though -- polished off the candy bar I bought and meant to save, to stretch out as long as possible, in the space of about two and a half hours -- gulping down what bits and pieces I get and loving them so much that it always tastes like more, to use an inapt metaphor.

It could just be hormones, that stupid cocktail stew of dumb chemicals dumped into my bloodstream via teeny pill and small gland... Or it could just be me.

I wish I could say what I really meant instead of this bizarre babbling.

And a happy Fourth to you all, and to all a good weekend. *Nod*

"In general they present a far lower health risk to humans than do dogs and cats! They seem to have a naturally high level of immunity to most diseases. Example? Opossums are more resistant to rabies than any other mammal; cattle, goats, dogs, cats, sheep, and the ice cream man are far more susceptible to rabies!"

From The National Opossum Society's website. Why yes, I -am- going to have a new layout soon, why do you ask? (That and opossums are just the damned cutest things on the planet, not counting four-week-old German shepherd puppies and baby armadillos.)

I miss the humidity. No, really -- most people hate it, but living in a state classified as 'semi-arid', where people keep humidifiers in server rooms because it's -too- dry, where static electricity is as common as dirt (but more painful)... Humidity is gooooooood.

Texas was -great-. We had _such_ a good time. *Bounce* And we already have plans for our next trip. *Grin* We didn't get to go to Six Flags, or the SF water park, or the botanical gardens, or the Japanese gardens, or to The Science Place, or... Well, more in a sec. We -did- get to see a _lot_ of things, though.

The wedding was spiffy. I wore my blue top and my Messiah pants -- the black cotton pants I wear when I participate in The Messiah, rather than pants that belong to The Second Coming of the Lord. *Snerk* Anyhow! I wore a hat that I've had forever, but have never had a chance to wear out and about. I can't remember if I had pictures taken while I was wearing my outfit. (See, I was -told- I was going to have to help with setup and breakdown. So, when the wedding was -over-, I immediately went and changed out of my fancy clothes and back into my T-shirt and shorts. I then tried to help, but most people had no clue as to what I needed to be doing, -and- I got sort-of yelled at for no longer being dressed up. *Shrug* This, people, is what happens when you decide NOT to have a rehearsal.) But the ceremony was lovely, with a lot of traditional bits and non-traditional vows; Dory recorded herself singing a mushy song that made me all sniffly; dad was a little hammy as usual... Dory wore a beautiful pale-blue dress, with a heavy satin skirt, gauzy overskirt, and blue-and-silver embroidered bodice. Dad was in a pale grey tux with pinstipes, as was Ben; Isaac wore a classic black tux that matched the one worn by the jerk Best Man*. Christina and Natalie wore pretty blue dresses -- Nat's was sky blue, with silver beads on the edges of the bodice, skirt, and complimentary wrap, while Christina's was dark blue with an empire waist and a gauzy overskirt, too.

* The best man is 29, I think, and apparently dating a 15-year-old. He also happily told us the tale of how he abandoned his dog -- luckily for him, he dropped it near a couple of neighborhoods, and away from busy roads -- and demonstrated that he just doesn't -care- about animals. I'd had a lot of respect and pleasure in his company before that. (The dog's transgression? It chewed everything it could get its mouth on, including all the Christmas presents, one of which was a DVD player with a metal housing. It sounded to me like the dog needed a -job-.)

We went to the Dallas Zoo, the Ft. Worth Zoo, the Dallas Aquarium At The Fair Park (located behind The Science Place), saw The Cotton Bowl stadium and what is probably the largest Ferris wheel in TX, saw a blue heron, cattle egrets, blackbirds, mockingbirds, wren/sparrow-type birds, ants, buzzards (turkey vultures), and about two and a half billion people. Okay, not -quite- _that_ many, but a _lot_. And a lot of cute, well-behaved babies. And well-behaved small children.

Speaking of small children: I now have more cousins, including a three-year-old that's lots of fun. I also met my uncle Donald, his wife Ellen, and their kids, along with seeing my aunt Sarah again for the first time in... wow, fifteen years? No, more like twelve or thirteen. Both she and Ellen want me to come see them in CA, and Sarah wants to spend the day with me at a spa. *Blink* I dunno, I'm just not really in to that, but it probably wouldn't kill me to do it once.

We had -such- a good time. I want to go back, and I don't care what time of year I go, though I'd prefer to go to the zoos and parks during the week, when there are fewer people.

I'm hooooooooome! *Bounce* Yaaaaaay. More details later, 'cause I'm plumb pooped and it's late, no matter -what- time-zone you're in. At least any time-zone in north America, anyhow.
