Tom is an incredible writer, and some day I will tell him so.

I think I'm addicted to Wildlife Emergency and Emergency Vets on Animal Planet.

Blogs don't have to have any more of a point than to be a collection point for thoughts and opinions, with the odd link thrown in for reference or entertainment.

I have to go buy brithday things for my Grandmother, now.

Dear Mindspring;

Mr. Harris' ISP is not selling his personal information. Who on -Earth- tells their ISP things like whether they're looking for a new job, a mate, a digital camera? Maybe AOL subscribers do, but then... NEver mind, that wouldn't be relevant. Anyhow! Mr. Harris' problem would seem to be pop-up ads and spam email, not his ISP.

Your 'You'll love these... They're unlisted.' spot is a far more likely scenario of an ISP (or any company that collects names and addresses) selling their customers' private information. It's not a new phenomenon -- catalog and magazine companies have been doing it for YEARS. I think it would be incredibly -strange- if they started running ads promising that they wouldn't sell my name and address to other outfits. At any rate, please get rid of the stupid Harris ad.

No love,
Shannon.

*Blinkblink* You wouldn't expect a site named 'Groove Manifesto' to be displayed entirely in Cyrillic, would you? I certainly didn't. *Blink*

...On the other hand, I must admit a shameful love of the RadioShack commercial where whatsername... Teri Hatcher? is asking Howie what to get someone for Christmas, and he frustrates her by giving football-related answers.

And the Dude, You're Gettin' A Dell guy. He just cracks me up for no good reason that I can see. (And...well... He's cute. I'm sick, I know, but then, you already knew that.)

I know entirely too much odd trivia. Every time I see/hear the Rhino Linings commercials, I want to write to them and point out that rhinoceri actually have rather sensitive skin...

...I also watch too much TV.

I want my laptop back. G'night.

I was going to go do something else, but got distracted by the MBTV forums for the XFiles. Here's a little thought to keep you warm at night: Callum Keith Rennie playing opposite Nick Lea.

This post brought to you by The Society For Slashing The Oddest Characters Imaginable and the letter j. Just because.

The pairing comes from learning that (allegedly, anyhow) the part of Krycek was offered to CKR as well as Mr. Lea.

And here I am, with an A- on my homework for Japanese class (the sentences) and a A+ on my Network Cabling pop quiz (the reading). Hee. I'm also trying to figure out what I'm going to take next semester; I'm thinking Japanese 102 and Selected Topics In Creative Writing: Children's Stories.

I've always loved kid's books -- we still have a collection of picturebooks from when Ev and I were little, plus a number of picturebooks that we've acquired as we grew. (One of my favorites is a book in French called 'Mon Plus Grand Ami', about an anteater named George that wants nothing more from the world than the chance to have his very own puppy. His friend, a hedgehog (whose name escapes me at the moment, ack), wakes him up one night to tell him that there's a puppy in the woods! George and his friend go out and rescue the puppy, and George is very happy. So is the puppy, who begins to grow, and grow, and grow... Soon, he's sleeping in George's bed, and George is sleeping in the little box the puppy had slept in. And, of course, George discovers that the puppy is actually a bear. George and the bear decide that he bear must go live in a cave with other bears, and it's a little sad, there... But they find a nice bear for him to live with, and George, of course, can come visit any time he wants. The illustrations are -marvelous-, and it's fun to read a story in another language.

Other favorites of ours include Fox In Socks (quick trick brick stack; quick slick chick stack; quick trick block stack; quick slick clock stack... Is your tongue numb?); The Mole Family's Christmas; That's Exactly The Way It Wasn't; We Hate Rain; The Worst Person In The World At Crab Beach; Amos (The Story Of A Dog And His Couch); Bill And Pete Go Down The Nile; A Time Of Wonder; Little Polar Bear; and undoubtedly two dozen more that I'm forgetting because I can't run out to the bookcases (hondana!) and check up on them. So anyhow, I like kid's books, and I always have. And besides, Two Guys In A Hole has been bugging me for ages, and it'd be nice if I could get it out of my head and down on paper.

I'm pretty sure I can write it subtly enough that little kids will pick p on the subtext and adults will think nothing of it... *Snerk* *Is a Bad Baby* *Is mostly kidding, anyhow*

And I have a new color of nailpolish -- Satin Shoes. It's a gorgeous red, with a softly pearlescent finish. It's yummy.

This is the sound of me not doinng my homework.

This is also the sound of me suddenly realizing that I have three chapters to read and about thirty sentences to write, not to mention the memorization of time and days of the week... Plus a large backlog of online 'learning modules' to complete.

Oops.

Oh, oh, oh! *Bouncebounce* I am -so- smart! *Snerk* I thought that this had gone off to Apple, possibly to never be seen again. Hee. I can't remember if I linked to it before, so here it is.

William Hurt is astonishing in Gorky Park. Just in case anyone was wondering. Leaving! Honest!
