I'm going to go to bed, now. Honest.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 12:00 AM |

The only thing I've done toward getting ready for class is putting on my socks, because I want to put Mme. Jean's backpack-button up here:

Pirates Are People Too.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 9:15 AM |

Good Eats with Alton Brown is always amusing. It makes me think that Good Eats is what would happen if my family was told to come up with a cooking show Or Else.

I had an idea -- or rather, I have This Picture In My Head -- re: Maus/Silver after seeing this page. The sad part, however, is that this picture pertains to when they first met, though I bet I -could- force it 'round to a later part. And now that I've said that, I can see the potential for it being a later part. Hmm...

I amaze myself, sometimes. I know how to make -na adjective negative in Japanese, I think I aced the quiz, -and- I managed not to be too pathetically rude in class today; all without having been there on Wednesday!

Guh. I'm not at all proud of that last fact.

And I told my mom. Technically, I wrote her a long disjointed letter that barely touched the surface, but it was more than I'd said in the past.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 11:16 PM |

I think I need a new template... This one is beginning to bug me.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 11:16 PM |

I've downloaded the Valentine's Day set from Web Elegance, not that I'll ever use it. It was simply too beautiful to pass up.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 11:44 PM |

I wanted to get some writing done, but I guess I'll go to bed instead. *Small sigh* But I get to go be a geek tomorrow, and then Mom and I are going to Bad Girls Of The North!

It takes so little to amuse me.

Oh, and to anyone that is participating (officially or unofficially) in NaNoWriMo: If you average 1,685 words a day, you can get your 50K in on time.

This Message Brought To You By One Of Those Annoying People That Remind You Of Deadlines When It Is The Least Helpful Thing They Could Be Doing. (I'll go hide, now.) And actually, I've been thinking about trying it, but I have no real ideas for a story at the moment. It's taken me since mid-July to get 26K+ on MooT, and it wasn't easy. Of course, I could always semi-cheat and just rewrite, say, MiLVO or StS from scratch, which I've sort-of been meaning to do -anyway-...

And a very happy All Saints Day to you.

Find saints at The Catholic Encyclopedia Online. (Did you know there's a Patron Saint of the 'net? I can't remember what their name is, but I think it starts with an I. I'm going to go look.)
Posted by: Shannon M.: 10:20 AM |

Actually, Saints and Angels is a -much- better place to find information on -your- favorite canonized people. And I was mistaken -- Saint Isidore of Seville is the _proposed_ saint of the 'net. Oops. Anyhow, you can read all about it here.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 10:25 AM |

Need an odd name? The Saint Index will provide almost any name you can think of, and some you probably can't. *Blinkblink*
Posted by: Shannon M.: 10:27 AM |

It is -so- _so_ nice to be able to post more than once from IE... And I get to use IE 5!
Posted by: Shannon M.: 11:05 AM |

Um... Should I not confess that I'd just gotten used to all of the onlist feedback for NummyTreats, and now that ListMum has decreed it Unacceptable, I miss it?

All it was was noise, background static, like my radio or TV being on... Just sound in the dark. Never mind. I don't know what it is I'm trying to say.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 11:09 AM |

Having just dripped chicken noodle soup onto the spacebar, I am now the official owner of this very spiffy little iBook. Its name is Fiach, which (I have been lead to believe) is Gaelic for 'raven'. How does one pronounce that, Reesa?
Posted by: Shannon M.: 12:11 PM |

Hee! Radiohead's album, Kid A, was produced using Macintoshes. So was the video for their first single.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 1:24 PM |

Oh, I uploaded The End to /moot/, if you want to read it... It's in SpoilerVision, though -- white text on white background.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 2:21 PM |

Okay, I was wrong about the vid for Radiohead's first single -- unless, of course, 'I Might Be Wrong' was their first single.

Oh dear. *Snerk* It's the Valentine's Day ep of Buffy...

Y'know, Xander is a _guy_. He's very much a guy. And watching him, I can see where my guys diverge wildly from others... *Ponder* Maybe it's that Xander's written by a guy. Or maybe it's something else entirely...
Posted by: Shannon M.: 9:34 AM |

Well, it was about thirty-five minutes worth of the Valentine's Day episode, as I ran out of tape. *Whine* I _hate_ it when A) TV stations change the schedule irght in the middle of things and B) I don't pay attention... I just hope I didn't miss much. *Frown*
Posted by: Shannon M.: 9:49 AM |

Hahaha... I _love_ The Basement at Warehouse 23.

You open one of the 1003 boxes on this floor and find...
A bolt of the fabric of the universe. Annoyingly, it's plaid.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 1:42 PM |

Yes, I should be in class.

I'm a great big flaming failure as a human being, thank you for noticing.

I need help.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 1:43 PM |

You open one of the 1003 boxes on this floor and find...
A TV remote. It has buttons for both "loudness" and "volume." Appropriate testing will reveal that the loudness buttons control how much noise the TV makes, while the volume buttons actually increase or decrease its *geometric* volume, at a rate of +/- 1% per second.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 1:45 PM |

Strangely enough, I could use one of these more often than I could use a real stapler.

You open one of the 1003 boxes on this floor and find...
An ordinary office stapler containing extraordinary staples. They could staple together two sheets of 1/16" steel, but refuse to perforate paper.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 1:49 PM |

Okay, I forgot how much I love Bad Blood.... *Sniggle* "... I don't even -have- a second-of-all! Four hundred and forty-five -million dollars, Mulder!"
Posted by: Shannon M.: 2:10 PM |

This is just plain amusing.

You open one of the 997 boxes on this floor and find...
A wad of used chewing gum. If touched, the sticky mass will draw itself up into a humanoid shape, wave its arms at the person who touched it, and then lapse into its former state.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 2:15 PM |

"White male, age sixty, who is arguably having a worse time in Texas than I am. Though not by much."
Posted by: Shannon M.: 2:17 PM |

"'M talkin' bout Shaft!"
"I did -not-!" *Giggle*
Posted by: Shannon M.: 2:26 PM |

I like the name 'Lucius' and its variants.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 2:30 PM |

'Home' is -the- most disturbing episode of XF _ever_. *Shudder* -3- doesn't even bug me, and I'm not a big fan of blood. Yerk... Although Home -does- have the ÜberScully line in it.

Note to Victoria's Secret:

None of the people in that advertisement are sexy. Some of those clothes might be, on the right people. None of the people in the ad were the right one.

Yours,
An Unaroused Viewer.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 5:07 PM |

I'm gonna do more TV-show blithering.

I like BtVS. More specifically, I love What's My Line, Pt. II. Hee. "Like a carebear with fangs?"
Posted by: Shannon M.: 5:19 PM |

Temptaion Island 2 looks stupid. Not that you all -didn't- know that, but I just thought I'd say.

Hee! Heehee! I am posting from my exquisitely wonderful new laptop.

Yeah. I love eBay.

Started The End last night... Can't decide if (if it ever gets done) I should post it, with white text on a white background, normal text-colors, or if I should just taunt you all with the fact that it's written and I have no middle. *Snerk* I gotta go make something to eat and watch Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, now.

Every move you make on your computer is being logged. From the Internet sites you visit, to the documents you open... you are
being tracked. Even if you attempt to delete these tracks, Windows retains secret log files. Deleting Internet Caches and
searching for history files would take hours of work manually. Clean Drive deletes all these items from your
computer... automatically, as often as you like!

Cleandrive the most effective, user friendly, cost efficient way to wipe your harddrive clean of all logs that your computer
records while you surf the web.

No more worring about what people will see on your computer.

Hee. First of all, computer security (at least online) is as simple as disconnecting from the 'net and turning the computer off.

Secondly?

This is a Mac, baby.

Posted by: Shannon M.: 8:51 PM |

And thirdly, it's my computer so I don't -have- to worry.

I fixed the Bookmarks link. I always forget that IE capitalizes 'favorites'... It makes sense, since Favorites is capitalized in the menubar.

In other news... I installed ZoneAlarm on Ev's computer, and my laptop should be here today! I just have to wait for Ev to get back with the car so I can go check my mail...
Posted by: Shannon M.: 10:38 AM |

Oh, and I know how I want MooT to end... Well, at least the Kelvath/Avrath part. Hee. I should go write that up...
Posted by: Shannon M.: 10:41 AM |

This link for the Dimond Center Webcam is -much- better than the previous one. However, the picture is much larger.
Posted by: Shannon M.: 11:05 AM |

Mr. Diaz, my instructor for my computer class, calls us 'Miss' and 'Mister', depending on our gender. I find it more amusing than anything else, not being used to responding to 'Miss Shannon'.

Allrighty, two quick links:

Wanna see my bookmarks? (Warning: This page is about 265K. No, I'm not kidding.) I also have no idea if a lot of them even -work- any more...

And my latest project -- The Renamed MooT (I will, however, continue to call it Moot in my head. Even the new title is feeling temporary to me... I need to figure out what it -wants- to be called).
