Wal*Mart's 'special gifts for special girls' campaign is kind of...weird. The hell? Why the gender line-drawing? We don't shop at Wal*Mart anymore, as they neglected to post anything about their new non-check-writing policy (they make you write the check, but instead of keeping it after scanning it/franking it, they hand it back and do an EFT. More ranting on this later) and the clerk checking us out that day royally pissed off my mother (which is, actually, quite difficult). This just reinforces my rapidly-dwindling desire to have anything to do with them.

Here. Still.

Just being very very quiet.

Well, today, I once again started a conversation with Joo-san in a spectacularly -lame- way. These two girls came to class and explained that they had ringworm, so they weren't going to be at class. Senshu-sensei had passed back our quizzes from Friday, and Joo-san wanted to know what I got on my quiz.

However, because he has this lovely low voice and because I was distracted by Ringworm Girls, -I- thought he was asking what -they- had. So, I told him, quite cheerfully, 'Ringworm!'. Then I figured out, after he asked me -again-, that he wanted to know what my score was.

I hate being me, some days. I can't believe that the last fifteen times he's tried to have a conversation with me that I _CANNOT_ manage to answer him with anything resembling a coherent, appropriate response.

Yigh. This whole interacting-with-others thing gets easier, right? Particularly the whole interacting-with-others-of-the-opposite-sex thing?

I was told I'd love college. I -love- _learning_, but college? It's like high school all over again, only I get to be ignored and to make a fool of myself on a grander scale. Of course, it also has the added bonus of not lasting very long, and that I probably won't see anyone either A) ever again or B) very often if I do have to see them.

On the other hand... I kinda -want- to see Joo-san again. But of course, I'm too lame and too much of a weenie to -do- anything about it.

----

In other news... I got to see School Hard (a.k.a. The First Spike Episode), which was fun. And can I just say how much I love poor Xander? And Oz, too. Hee. And I really like Willow, particularly when she's sniping at Cordeila.

And how much I lovelovelove having my own TV/VCR/cable box? -That- rocks. And it's here in my room, where I can watch whatever I want, whenever I want, pretty much.

I should be practicing Japanese adjectives and prepositions, but... I want to write. I haven't gotten to do that, much, either.

I didn't get the gorgeous, fully-loaded iBook, but I've got my bid in on this baby. No reserve! (Reserve Auctions are Evil.)

I found my Cassiopiea! The screen's still broken, but I -did- find it. I also found my CD player; the Gameboy; and the little minicassette-recorder, three tapes, and the battery cover for said recorder.

----

I bought Angel Sanctuary on DVD the other day. I started watching it today. I giggled through most of the first part... *Snerk* I'm -sorry-, I know it's a Deep And Dark anime about Good and Evil and The Fate Of The World, but... Those _boots_. And the -dialogue-. Oh dear.

----

My room is almost all cleaned up. I have a new bookcase, which is almost full (surprise surprise); and you can see more carpet now than three weeks ago at this time. Actually, you can see more carpet now than you could at any time since I moved in...

I still need to do something with my closet, The Table Of Doom, and my computer table, but I no longer have to worry about tripping over something small and pointy, or slipping on a pile of catalogues, or something.

I think that's about it for now.
