So I tried adding more pages to my Art-thing at crosswinds. Well... I managed to fix the links, so you can actually get from the index page to page 32, but some of the pictures (okay, _most_) aren't showing up. In IE, I get little messages at the bottom of the page saying 'Loading x K of 70K, at x KPBS'. Or I get 'connecting: contacting crosswinds.net...', then the loading message, a status bar that fills up quickly, and no picture.

In NS, I get a 'loading...' message, and then a broken image. It doesn't help that NS runs abysmally slowly on my computer... And on top of it all, NS seems to clog up the modem line and then -everything- stops working, kind of like a sink drain that drains slower and slower until it simply -won't-.

So. I used Fetch to upload the pics/pages, as usual, and it's only the images that aren't working. The HTML works just fine. *Grump* And I tried using crosswinds' upload utility, but it froze... *Jabs things* Is it too bloody much to ask that things just frigging WORK right the first time? Jeeze...

The Spam Files...

More domains from my inbox.

  • uole.com or uol.com, not sure which. Both of my broaswers have been refusing to work, of late.
  • fp.inoac.net, from Jim Stead, from whom I requested not a scrap of information.
  • From: sendmail.ru, to: newmail.com
  • neth.com.br, advertising a stock analysis newsletter that costs 100 dollars a year to recieve
  • While I doubt that the user-name portion of this domain is correct, the domain itself probably exists. vsam.vic.edu.au
  • bluebyte.de, from asiaspi. Ooh.
  • fol.net
  • charles at loja.net sent me a thing on offshore and bulletproof investments.
  • Townhouses in Florida (gated communities, ooh, secure!) -- theislandclub.com
  • If I didn't know that the only Tom I know is a pretty upstanding guy, I'd blame him for the spam I got from tom1@ toponeman.com.
  • It's not a good idea to use your ZIP code in your e-mail addres, david_32375@msn.com.
  • I think these guys have made my Spam Parade before -- public.sta.net.cn
  • geosolutions.com, c_hart@angelfire.com, income@extraonlineincome.com, and hall@indiatimes.com were all involved with -one- email that said very little about what you actually _do_ to earn money, but it made a lot of promises that you -would- make it.
  • Herbal Viagra, spammed from via@nat.fr, yet the address you send your money to is in Pampano Beach, Florida. Hmm.
  • sunpoint.net has obviously confused me with someone that has a judicial judgement to buy. Or someone at slo.net.
  • From: carolkip@ntts.co.jp. Carol, Kip, it's not worth it. Leave me alone.
  • a-1.be wants me to lose weight. Yeah, well, so? I ain't buying it.
  • portugalmail.com wants you to "start making what your worth" [sic!]. Funny, but tpxpi looks more Basque than Portugese...
  • ricokid.cc's spam was actually fairly interesting -- steel building/building materials prices.
  • wongfaye.com has printer cartridges for cheap.
  • I wouldn't use my real name on spam, would you? Sean Christopher of crenterprises.net doesn't seem to care...
  • Y'know, I'm beginning to get a little disappointed by the number of Japanese domains I find in my inbox... And none of them have anything to do with anime, yaoi, learning the language, clothes, music, holidays or food. nasda.go.jp is another in what seems to be a long line of them... *Blink* Odd. My email says the authenticated sender is actually someone with wuntagic.com. Interesting...
  • #1 Female sex aids right here!! Sponsored by the annoying folks at wmin.ac.uk. (I got -two- of these on the same day!
  • Gary Barraclough is another person that uses their name on spam. -And- sending it from MSN.com. Things like this cause my uncle, who is _trying_ to send legit mail from his MSN account, gets nasty "You Bad Spammer You!" letters from outside ISPs.
  • Dear mark, I am not your friend. And I bet I know just where you picked up that address of mine for spamming purposes. Do not do it ever again.
  • viewcarleton@connect-ed.net, Canadian spam? Also - inets2.vabank.com.ua, Uruguay?
  • telia.dk, MLM spamscam.
  • I shoooould probably report Cable Extender to Lycos.com. Black boxes are illegal up here, and besides that, the cable company recently launched a big anti-cable-theft campaign.
  • Jasmin Kaur of arabia.com wants to know how to get the perfect customer. Here's a hint on getting -me- -- Don't send me email that has nothing of interest in it!
  • *Snicker* By the way, jayd12@rniureo17.com, don't send me Windows spam -- I use a Mac. Not to say that I want _Mac_ spam, either...
  • k.ro has to have one of the shortest domain names I've ever seen.
  • Whoever is using flanker.itl.net.ua to send spam must be sending it to themselves -- the 'To:' address had portugalmail.com as the domain.
