I can only post and publish Blogstuff from IE at school. I can only do it from NS at home.

...

Gah. Maybe I'll have new writing tomorrow. Maybe I'll also buy the Brooklyn Bridge for a dollar-eighty-two and some pocket lint.

I'm going to bed. It's been a -looooong- week.

Ika, Ika! Norimaki hamaguro cha cha cha!
Posted by: Shannon M.: 11:33 AM |

The post about squid, seaweed and... Um, I forget what 'maki' is, and dancing mackeral was brought to you by the committee for posting nonsense in an attempt to diagnose Blogger trouble.

I still don't know what was wrong with it this morning... *Grumple*

How'd you like to read an Icelandic NBA fan's Blog? Here you go. Yeah, it -is- in Icelandic, but there's a few words of English. And it's always fun to check out languages... I was poking around on Yahoo Norway earlier. There are a surprising number of Norweigan cognates.

Random blitherings gleaned from watching Starsky & Hutch

Um. It's not that I hate to admit this, but it's... A little odd for me. I think I actually -like- S&H. It's fairly well-written for a cop/buddy show; they don't rely too heavily on their SFX to save poor scripts (of course, these two points may be completely ridiculous, since I've only seen one and three-quarters episodes); S&H aren't -that- unattractive for all that it was made in the '70s (which is almost tied with the 60s as my personal Most-Hated decade); and... Well... It's slashy and funny, which will almost always sway me.

Speaking of slashy, have you caught the new Burger King ads featuring The Backstreet Boys? *Snicker* There's this one shot of the guys dancing around on stage, singing... One of them kneels down at the edge of the stage and recieves a carnation. Another one follows suit, and gets a Whopper or something... But the expression on his face indicates that he's rather moved by this gesture. No, -really- moved, like it's a symbol of true love or maybe just unabashed desire or something. Then the camera pans over the crowd to focus on the person that handed the burger over -- a guy. Kind of a funny looking guy, too, who then points at the BSB and kind of smiles in that "you know who loves ya, baby" way... While this is happening, there's a voice-over saying, "How did we get the Backstreet Boys to do this exclusive music? We wined and dined them just like we would any other big act..." You kind of have to see it, and I'm probably one of the few people that can find slash in a -commercial- for a fast-food joint.

I want a set of those little people from the Dirt Devil commercials. They look like Lego guys, but cuter.

Moen has been running commercials for their new line of faucets and shower fixtures, one featuring a man and one a woman. They're... Hm. Let's just say that in the former's case, I'm probably the only female in North America wondering what he looks like dried off and with his clothes -on-, because the filmographer's interest in the whole showerhead thing just doesn't interest -me-.

Oh gads, it's almost 11. I have to go to bed... Gotta get up and do it all again tomorrow. Hee.

I was cleaning out my e-mail inbox, and I discovered last week's issue of Apple's ENewsletter. *Grin* They were touting their latest Quicktime trailers, and they happened to mention that they'd updated their selection... To include the Final Fantasy trailer. My dog doesn't appreciate being awakened by happy screeches, strangely enough... I wonder why...?

I was kind-of concerned that whoever was making the movie would try to use live actors... But it looks like Columbia/Sony/Square/whoever-it-is hired the lovely people that did the FMV animation for FFVII and VIII. *Small swoon* I still can't decide if I want to explore the official movie site or not, since it might have spoilers... But I'm still excited at the idea of an FF movie.

I'm such a geek.

Hee. I love being me, at least when I'm being brilliant...

I was whining about having lost all my bookmarks, right? Well, I discovered that I'd backed them up a couple of months ago, so I really only lost a very few.

And to make it even easier on myself, I've decided to keep a copy of them in several places, one of which is online. The file is 165K, more or less, and arranged in a manner that -I- understand... You might not. I have this thing about everything being grouped sorta neatly together... It makes it easier to find stuff. Usually, anyhow.

Random observations... I'm wearing a Tick band-aid on my cut, at the moment. It's not a very good one -- most of the dialogue is on another strip. *Grin* But I -can- tell that the Tick is shouting "Stop your evil ways!" in one panel, and finishing his 'Going Sane In A Crazy World' speech in another. And there's most of American Maid on one side of it, so it's not -that- bad.

I've been trying to draw Hubie a lot, lately, and it's not going very well. I think it's because I want to draw him for a cartoon or something... Listening to the desires of others can be infectious... Well, that and I've -always- loved the way Daria is drawn, along with The Exiles from The Wake by Neil Gaiman...

How could I forget Shinji's Vault of Anime MiSTings? I don't know. The Fauth Brothers and Seth C. Triggs are two of my most favorite authors, at the moment.

Today's Internet Lesson:

Always, always, -ALWAYS- try the obvious stuff first. Case in point -- I'm still looking for a better version of the cover art for Joan Jett's 'Fetish' album. Poster, CD sleeve itself, it doesn't really matter. All I want is the picture. So I go to Google and run a search for what I'm looking for, and get a bunch of not-really-helpful fan sites. One of these sites has a link to Joan Jett & The Blackhearts: The Official Site.

Duh. Oh well, it -was- late, and I -was- being distracted by other things. Not that I can remember what they are, at the moment...

So, kids, that was your 'net lesson of the day. Tune in later today when you hear The Technogoddess say:

"....So if we rerouted the data packets, we could concievably get two or three more megs of bandwidth!"

Yeah. Right. *Giggle*

So here I am, posting from school... *Wavewave* Hi mom! Go Cubs! Woooo!

Um. I'm much better, now... *Grin*

I cut myself with my pocket knife today. It was an accident -- I was trying to help someone by opening their calculator (it was in one of those damned annoying plastic packages that are nearly impossible to get open), the knife slipped and folded up on my finger. Bled all over the place and stung like the dickens for a bit, then politely quit. It looked a lot worse than it was.

School was good. Long day, starting when I woke up at like 5:30... And from there it was just a blur. Typing tests, yelling at people, more typing tests... Whee. And I get to do more tomorrow!

My head hurts and I am -tired-. I want to go to bed, but it's only just now 6:30 and if I do, I'll wake up at like 4...

I blame my like misuse of 'like' on like that Daria show. *Snerk* I _love_ Daria. And Jane. And Trent, pretty much, too. I did see disturbing slash potential between Mr. O'Neill and Mr. DiMartino -- disturbing because DiMartino is not exactly the oh-so-slashable type. (O'Neill is almost too easy a target for slashing...) But then I'm weird. After all, I was the one threatening to write Hiei/Kuwabara yaoi... Or was it Hiei/Yusuke? Yusuke/Kuwabara? Some unlikely pairing, anyhow... Hee.

I want to write. I haven't written anything in about a week... And I want to work on getting my new site up and running, so I can move this blog over there.

I guess I'll go do that, then. *Blinkle*

I love listening to Echoes. The music is always really different and usually pleasant. *Grin* They had Yuki Honda on, one night, and she has the neatest voice! *Snerk* Listen to me gush like a ninny... But she -does- have a neat voice. It's Japanese Cute, which is the only kind of Cute I like, any more...

I also love Molly. *Shakes head* She's gotta be one of the most.... -Honest- curious people I've ever met. Strong, brave, forthright, funny... *Happy little sigh* So anyhow. I think she's the cat's pajamas.

I gotta be at school at 7:30 AM tomorrow. I need a shower. My brother's hogging the bathroom, reading and coughing and blowing his nose.

I'm nervous, does it show?

12 new kids. 12!

Yeek.

On a more personal note, my mother thinks it weird that I brush my teeth in the shower. I think it's perfectly efficient, and the end result is the same -- I have clean (more or less) teeth. *Shrug*
